    1. [BKLYN] Yvonne LAMOTHE, Quebec to NY or NJ ~1900
    2. Betty
    3. Hello, I have a lady, Yvonne LAMOTHE, on my extended family tree. When she was a widow and had the name, Mrs. Yvonne JARRY, she remarried to Silas Dean LEWIS in 1952 in MA. This was Silas' 3rd marriage, and he was my grandfather. Yvonne was born in 1897 in Brome, Prov. of Quebec and came down to the Springfield, MA, area around 1919, and married her - to her boyfriend, Albert JARRY (also from Quebec). Over the weekend, I saw someone on-line Selling "childhood photos" of an - Yvonne LAMOTHE. She was also probably from the Prov. of Quebec, and there were French words in the album the photos were in. This Yvonne might have been born ~1900 to 1910. And, her family seems to have been living in NY or NJ in the 1910 to 1920 timeframe. This is not stated, but one of the pictures shows her at "Brighton Beach." So, I'm thinking she was part of a family possibly living in New York City. I have mentioned this on the Quebec Lists, and I've been told that LAMOTHE (sp?) is a very popular name in that Province. And there were at least 10 Yvonne LAMOTHE's in the 1911 census. I have no connection to these pictures, but they would be valuable to someone researching this family. Have a pleasant week. Betty (near Lowell, MA) FYI: Silas Dean LEWIS was one of 13 children of John "Stanley" and Mary (CORKILL) LEWIS of Stoneham, MA. That's where most of the children were born and that's where they were raised. This would have been in the 1880 to 1920 timeframe. After the deaths of their parents in 1923 and 1924, the children moved to different areas. At least 2 or 3 children married in MA to spouses who had come from NY or NJ. (There is information on the 13 siblings in the archives of the MA Lists, and I am in the process of typing up a report on the siblings and their families.) FYI: Stanley and Mary were born in Liverpool, England ~1860. They became "British Home Children" (Canadian term) and were "shipped to Canada" in ~1874. They and siblings went to different families in Nova Scotia. Stanley and Mary married there but came down to MA in 1881. PLEASE LEARN ABOUT THE "BRITISH HOME CHILDREN." You will find information in the archives of the BHC List.
