    3. Hello - I have a question; where would I be able to have someone lookup and send me a copy of articles in Newsday (Long Island issue) for Feb. 1954? My uncle was missing for a few days and was found dead in his car on Southern State Pkwy. My Dad said it was in the paper but my Mom was in the hospital at the time so she never saw them. Thanks for any help. Kathleen

    2. Kathleen, Here are two suggestions. They've both worked for me. Try the online obituary sites such as America's Obituary and Death Notices and Rootsweb's Obituary Daily Times. Your local library might subscribe to America's Obituary and Death Notices. Then, the other suggestion is to email or call the library in the county that the death occurred in. Give all pertinent data such as name, date of death, etc. and ask if they have a Newsday index and would they search for the obit and mail it to you. They'll probably charge a nominal fee. Or perhaps you can ask for an interlibrary loan photocopy from your local library. I know that's also how I can get an out of state obit from my library in Jacksonville.
