I am new to New York research and have recently found a family that I am trying to find out more about. Constantine Phillips and his wife Emily lived in Brooklyn and I have found them on the 1880 & 1900 census. I also found Constantine living with his daughter in Camden, New Jersey in the 1930 census as a widow. What I am trying to determine is if Constantine's wife is Emily Humphry. So ideally I would like to locate a marriage record for them. Emily came to the States in 1870, she was born in 1854 in England and was in Canada by 1858. Her father had died and her mother Margaret Humphry (Jeffery) was born in Quebec City. I do not know if her mother remarried before going to N.Y. In 1932 a relative living in Chicago died and willed Constantine & Emily's daughters some money - their names were Florence Phillips and Lillian DeForest. >From what I can tell there is an index for N.Y. marriages that I could check.
