There is a preponderance of Irish names. This particular census images appear very clearly on Ancestry.com. The names are not alphabetized. There are some particularly great things about searching these pages. You will find: 1) Birth Dates are exact. 2) Childbirths: Total number and number still living in 1900, for each woman; 3) Immigration Year, and Naturalization status. I viewed each page and referenced the Image/Page numbers to correspond with the numbers on Ancestry. 1900 United States Federal Census > New York > Kings > Brooklyn Ward 29 > District 548 * Images/Pages 1 = EMPLOYEES, Lines 1-19 MALE COUNTY PAUPERS begins, Line 20 ImagesPages 1-11= MALE COUNTY PAUPERS Images/Pages 11-24 = FEMALE COUNTY PAUPERS Images /Pages 24-26 = "FOUNDLING & CHARITY CASES" Images/Pages 27-30 = EMPLOYEES: Nurses, Doctors, Orderlies etc Images/Pages 31-34 = MALE CHARITY CASES Images/Pages 34-36 = FEMALE CHARITY CASES (some males mixed in) Images/Pages 36-41 = "IDIOTS" [today aka learning disabled] POORHOUSE REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES http://www.poorhousestory.com/cert_vol.htm DEATHS http://www.bklyn-genealogy-info.com/Death/Flatbush/2.html http://www.bklyn-genealogy-info.com/Death/Flatbush/1.html ARCHITECT MUNDELL, WILLIAM A. I have a Brooklyn death certificate that puts the place of death at 8 James St, Ward 2. There is also a James St. ME Church on a Brooklyn marriage record. Just wondering if anyone has a clue as to where James St might have been located. Deborah **************Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Read reviews on AOL Autos.
