    2. Thanks for responding, Tom, but the Famine Irish hadn't even touched a toe on Gotham soil during this time frame. We can only look up the Know-Nothing guys, who were peeved by the Irish. I'll tell you what I think would really sell a site, is those mysteriously absent, online-searchable directories owned by Gale that suddenly disappeared a couple of years ago. You know, the Directories that folks could access from Ancestry Plus titled something like (paraphrased) "All Cities, All Times, etc" Do I hear a second?     3. Actually, there are plenty of Irish who came before the famine. While mine came in the famine period - they had numerous cousins that came earlier - even in the 1700s. It's been fascinating to sift through and make the connections.
