the 1870 census for Hempstead has Henry Mott, head, wife Emily,Ben Mott age 8 and Harriet Shaw 12. Emily is the widow of Jacob Shaw, Henry's first wife was frances unknown and Harriet Shaw is emily and Jacobs youngest daughter. BUT who is Ben Mott, could he be a son of Emily and Henry. Henry was 45 in the 1850 census so Ben could be a natural child of Henry and Emily. any ideas? Henry and Frances's son,Stephen Henry Mott in the 1850 census was age 12 and is my great great grandfather. thanks valerie
