It does look like James ME Church, now that you mention it and John Wesley is more than likely. There is another word after Wesley that could be Hill but it is really bad writing. Thanks for the lead. Deborah In a message dated 7/31/2008 8:16:24 P.M. Hoping someone has come across this address in association with a Methodist Episcopal church - 268 Stuyvesant Street. The date is 1906, the pastor's name looks like John Werley or Werlexxxx. The Church's name is one word plus M.E. Church after it. Looks like the first letter of the name of the church could be 'J'. I believe that address is a residence since I was able to find a Rev. James Montgomery at that address in the Bklyn City Directory in 1889-90 along with 2 other families. No idea if he was affiliated with the church listed on the marriage record. If someone has access to a 1906 Brooklyn City directory and can check for a one name Methodist Episcopal church with a possible pastor's name similar to John Werle, that would be a big help too.
