    3. Is there anything in the new law relating to really really old adoptions where the adopted person is long deceased and grandchildren would like to access the sealed adoption files? My grandfather was born in 1889 and had no birth certificate, and altho I've since managed to find out quite a lot about his father, I was not allowed to see the file relating to his adoption by his stepfather circa 1900, in Chicago, at which time his biological father was still living. Maybe I will try again to request those documents. I know this is not about Brooklyn, but THANK YOU BARB for posting it!
