    3. Hi, Everyone. Happpy New Year! I thought I would start the year out by sending an e-mail in the hopes that someone may see something that sounds familiar and may be able to provide info. I do have alot of info, so I am willing to share what I have too. I am just hoping to get beyond where I am. I apologize for the length, but as you know the intwining of families gets complicated, so if you want to skim through to see if any names sound familiar, feel free to do so. Here goes: My Dayton line has been the easiest and most accurate, thanks to the fact that there are many of us out there and the Daytons were conscienscious genealists. My great grandmother was Ann Eliza Dayton-born @ 1872, first child of Robert Henry Dayton (son of Robert White Dayton and Hannah Strong) and Cecilia Hotaling. I have quite a bit of information (and some copies of pictures) about my Dayton line going back to Ralph Dayton. Ann Eliza Dayton married John Benjamin Dewar @ 1892 in NY. My Dewar line is nebulous: John Benjamin was born around 1868. Most census say he was born in California. His death certificate ( I have a copy), as attested by his wife (Ann Eliza), indicates that he was born in San Francisco and his parents are listed as Edwin Dewar and Margret Hendrickson. However, his marriage certificate(I also have a copy) indicates he was born in Vermont and his parents were Constantin Dewar and Margret Bird. On his daughter, Edna May's death certificate (she died as an infant), John Benjamin is listed as being born in Massachussetts. Ann Eliza and John Benjmin had four children in total: Ann Margaret (sometimes listed as Margaret Ann or Madge) born @ 1893, John E. (the "E" is probably "Edwin", which makes me think that that was John Benjamin's father's name) born @ 1897, Edna May (who died of measles as an infant in MA) born @ 1903 and Bertha Eliza born in 1908. This family moved around. They lived in NYC, Queens, Bronx, Boston, Long Island...and perhaps Brooklyn. John Benjamin died in 1933 and Ann Eliza died in 1937 in Glen Cove, NY. They are buried in the East Hillside Cemetery in Glenhead, L.I. My Albertson line: Ann Eliza and John Benjamin's oldest daughter, Ann Margaret ( Margaret Ann or Madge), born @ 1893, married George W. Albertson in 1916 in NY. The 1930 census indicates they lived on a barge in NYC. They list 3 children: Margaret, William and John. Ann MArgaret died @ 1953 and is buried in the East Hillside Cemetery in Glen Head, NY. There is no headstone on her grave, but she is buried in the area where her parents, grandparents (Robert Henry Dayton and Cecilia Hotaling) and some aunts (Mary Dayton, Conklins, Webbs) are buried. I have not been able to find Ann Margaret's children. John E. Dewar has been difficult to locate. I have not been able to find any military records for him. Since he signed his mother's death certificate in 1937, he is listed as living in NYC. My Heine (Hein)-Fuchs-Berger-Grosberger lines: Bertha Eliza, Ann Eliza and John Benjamin Dewar's youngest child, was born in the Bronx in 1908. She married John McSherry in 1927 and then married John Frederick Heine in 1928. I have both marriage certificates. I do not know what happened in this situation. Bertha and John had four children: Bertha born @ 1930 (died 1997), John Frederick born @ 1931 (died in 1932 and is buried in the East Hillside Cemetery with his grandparents), Richard Frederick born @ 1933 (died 1978) and Phillip B. born @ 1934 (died 1977). Their children are listed with the last name of Hein and not Heine. Bertha Eliza and John Frederick Heine were divorced in 1953 in FL. John died in 1972 in Floral Park, NY and Bertha Eliza was never seen or heard from after 1953. John Frederick Heine was born @ 1900 in Rocky Point, Long Island to Frederick W. Heine and Elizabeth Fuchs, both born in Germany. They also had a daughter, Florence, who was born @ 1898. Frederick W. Heine was obviously married before and had sevearl other children (Emma, George, Elizabeth, Mary and Armanda). I have found some information about George (nd have contact with some family members) and Elizabeth (she married Gustav Lange and they had 2 girls: Elizabeth and Alice). I lose this family after 1900. I cannot find Frederick W. Heine and his children from his first marriage in the 1910 census. Elizabeth Fuchs remarried in VA @ 1903 to John Paul Berger, born in Germany. They had two children: Amelia and Paul John. Florence Heine never married, that I have found. She is listed on her mother's death certificate in 1923 (Elizabeth Fuchs Heine Berger is buried at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx) as Florence Berger and not Heine. I have not been able to find any additional info on Florence. and not Heine. Recently, I found that Amelia Berger married Frank Grossberger @ 1923 and they had several children. Paul Berger was killed in a truck accident in Queens in 1948. Thank you for giving me the time to write this out. If any of this sounds familiar and you have any questions, I will be happy to help. Liz
