Hello all- Thanks to all who responded. Here is what I know. John Joseph Nolan was born in 1846 in Kilkenny, Ireland. We have his baptismal papers. He married Catherine in NYC. We also have the marriage record. He had 4 children all born in Brooklyn. The last one who born in either Dec 1890 or Jan 1891. In 1883, they lived at 253 Bergen St, near the Navy yard. Oldest child's birth record. I have the 1892 (Feb 16th) NY census where Catherine is listed with all 4 children and no husband living in Brooklyn. Catherine died in 1931 and is at Evergreen Cemetery. I have gone to the Municipal Archives and looked up each John Nolan who died between Jan 1890 and February 1892 who was from age 35-55. John was in his mid forties when he died. I have scoured the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. John was a travelling salesman who drove to CT to sell Singer sewing machines. He had a very bad accident involving his horse. We don't know if he died out of state or was brought back to NY to die. They were extremely poor, but I would imagine they would have wanted his body back if he died. The family was aware of what happened to him. I would think this would have made the news? Nothing in the NY Times either. Would they have buried him where he died? The CT state indexes start at 1897 for the entire state. I would have to know a town in order to start searching the time frame we are looking at. Unfortunately, this just may be a dead end. Kim,    I recall seeing you post about this obstacle before, so let me ask a few more questions.  Looks like you have looked in all the right places with no success.  So we can help you better....... What year were they married?What year was Catherine born and where? Children's names and DOBWhere did they live in 1880 (exactly)?
