    3. Folks are reacting to the LDS/Family Search change not to process certificate orders online. My hunch is that they became overwhelmed with individual orders, or that this method didn't serve church members who are required to perform genealogical research. What about homebound and those not near LDS centers? This is a real issue. If list member collaborated it would help them and others. Barb -----Original Message----- From: Pat Connors via ny-irish@rootsweb.com I also have a recent experience, ordered 11/9 and received at my local FHC 11/23. I believe it costs $8 per film. 3. The greatest loss to New York researchers, of course, will be free and convenient access to copies of the NYC vital records indexed by the Italian Genealogy Group and the German Genealogy Group. After FamilySearch ends the service, the only means of obtaining those copies will be by ordering (for a fee) from the NYC Municipal Archives or renting the microfilm at a Family History Center. When FamilySearch digitizes the NYC vital record microfilms (a major undertaking), we will be able to download copies.
