    3. Keep in mind that Ancestry is supposedly UP FOR SALE…Maybe they are trying to make it look “up to date” or something! To think we pay mega dollars for something that is of no use to us…and has taken away (or potentially taken away) all the many years of hard work put forth in searching the past! I honestly believe that Ancestry owes each of us an explanation…and a promise that we can at least retain all of OUR work that currently resides with them. 1. [BKLYN] Morse ... Update
    2. Hi Guys - Got the following response from Steve to my email. Site suspended for two weeks due to spammer. Back online by June 16th, hopefully. Stephen P. Morse Jun 2 at 9:16 PM To Stephen P Morse To all who have written to me: A malicious individual has lied under oath and filed a false DMCA complaint to my hosting provider claiming that she holds the copyright to a picture that appears on my website. It turns out that anyone can make such a claim, and whether it is true or not, the hosting provider must suspend the site for a period of two weeks under DMCA rules while waiting for the complaining party to provide proof. My apologies to all of you for any inconvenience that the site closure has caused you. 3. Someone posted a contact Facebook page for a genealogist in Dublin not too long ago and I thought I saved that information but I cannot find it. I hope it was posted on the NY Irish list but in case it was posted on another list I am also sending this to some other possible lists. I have FINALLY found a birth cert that leads me to Dublin (and also one to Quin, County Clare) so I am ready to LEAP across the pond. I don't feel it necessary to get a certified researcher as long as the person doing the research is good. If anyone has any specific contact info for genealogy researchers in either of the areas, please let me know. I know it is against list rules to put an email address on the list, so PLEASE CONTACT ME OFF LIST. I really want to "get this party started". I waited until today and asked again. I did get a prompt reply but now they say orders for death certificates for Manhattan (1928-1948), Brooklyn and other boroughs are processed in 6-10 weeks. The reply I got today said they're digitizing 10.5 million historical vital records (birth, marriage, death) so I guess I can understand that they're otherwise occupied. If you're looking for a marriage record you're in luck! They're all done and you should get a response very quickly! The response said birth record requests are processed in 4-6 weeks. If you're looking for a death certificate it's a very long wait. :( I'm trying really hard to be patient. >> >> Kathy >>

The first time I contacted the archives 2 weeks ago to find out where my certificates were they said they were printing orders from March and the first 2 weeks of April so I should have them shortly. > > Kathy > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NYBROOKLYN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
