SORRY.. This should NOT have come through. I received the following from a lister. .....Plaxo/Pulse is a program that has a mail, contact and calendar list.? It syncs some other programs. What happens when you join it, it asks you if it can send out emails in your contact list asking people to join. Obviously someone had the Brooklyn rootsweb in their mail list and it was sent out to all of this persons mail list including the rootsweb list. It is a legitimate program and doesn't resort to spam.? I have had it for a couple of years and have never had a problem...... BUT it is an advertisement and it did come through. When I reported it as SPAM, I was unsubbed from my own list. Do NOT report it, just delete it! **************Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Sign up for FanHouse Fantasy Football today. I accidentally unsubcribed myself by putting Plaxo In my spam folder. I did not ask to be put in someone's family so why should it be up to me to remove myself.?? To me it was spam. AOL automatically removes you from the list when you do this so does roots web. Do not enroll anyone without there requesting it first, Eliz **************Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Sounds like a good idea >From today's New York Times. "The G & B wanted a place where the members would have access and where the collection would be taken care of," said David S. Ferriero, the Andrew W. Mellon director of the New York Public Libraries. "Combining the two collections will result in an extraordinary resource for people nationwide seeking to learn about family members who were born in New York, lived in New York or passed through New York on the way to becoming citizens."
It's official now. The total number of fifteen members of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society have given the library collection away. Here is a copy of the MTA print of Coney Island that adorns the subways, that I mentioned earlier. FYI ...The NYC Transit Authority has a joyful, playful print of Coney Island displayed in their subways now. I'm unsure who the artist is, as I meant to recall it. If anyone is interested in it, you might try the site for the Transit Museum or Transit Authority. Reno, NV; Acapulco, Mexico; and the Dominican Republic were places that NYers got divorced. However, in the 1950s, commercial airlines did not fly to as many locations as they do today. So, that may be a consideration as to where you search. Yes, some FL, CA, and NC divorces are basically accessible via Ancestry.com.
