Devoted father of Nancy Schachnovsky and Robert. Loving son of Mrs. Mary Schneider. Dear brother of Dr. Harry, Dr. Samuel, Rose Schoenfeld and Helen Rockler. Darling grandfather of Amy and John Schachnovsky. Services today, 10 A.M. at "The Riverside", Bronx, 79 Street and Grand Concourse. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Koenig Memorial Fund, Vanderbilt University, Medical School, c/o Sylvia Schneider. New York Times Sep 8, 1973, page 29 "Druggist Beaten to Death in Bronx" A 68 year old pharmacist was found slain behind the counter of his Bronx drugstore last night. The police said he had been beaten to death in an apparent robbery attempt. The pharmacist, Louis Schneider, who lived at 80 Knolls Crescent in the Eastchester section of the Bronx, was found by a customer at 6 P.M., the hour Mr. Schneider usually closed his store. The store, which Mr. Schneider had owned for 20 years, is at 120 East 181st Street, in the Tremont section, a block west of the Grand Concourse...... Mr. Schneider and his wife had reopened the store this week after returning from a vacation in Maine....
