As for West Farms....seems one of my ancestors was listed as a gardner on the census records...my direct ancestor lived in Croton on Hudson from about 1852 to 1860 when I find the family in NYC at that time. My directs on all sides, seemed to move around and left very little in records and died off early.....:( Plus they for some reason all had the first name of JOHN.......:(:( and no middle name....:(:(:( Thanks for your very informative email.
