Write the police precint in which the dpmestic voilence occurred in. Hardly think and everyday occurrence such as domestic vioolence would be in any newspaper. Once again, I defer to you all, the experts with these issues of genealogy...I recently found a note from my grandfather that appears to be an account of an incident of domestic violence with his sons (and possibly implicates his wife). In the note he indicates that he has reported the incident to the police and indicates the officers badge number. This occurred in 1948 (all members of my family involved in this incident are deceased). Is there anyway to try to obtain this record? If I have the badge number of an officer, will that tell me in which precinct this report was filed? This might shed some light on why my mother was estranged from her family (and it seems they were all estranged from each other...).
