My wife's father's family lived in the Bronx, but her father kept them at arm's length. Her grandmother died in the 1943 time frame (don't know where she's buried or date of death) and two of her uncles have died since then (one in the 40s or 50s and one in the 70s or 80s). We live in the Midwest and don't have easy access to any records in NY. Is there any index of deaths in NY that is available on line? Gary Hoffstetter
The following web site has an index of New York City Deaths for the years 1891 to 1948: www.italiangen.org -------------------------------------------------- From: "Gary & Barbara Hoffstetter" <ghoffste@sbcglobal.net> Sent: Saturday, December 06, 2008 8:45 AM To: <NYBRONX@rootsweb.com> Subject: [NYBRONX] Availability of death records? > My wife's father's family lived in the Bronx, but her father kept them at > arm's length.
