Their last name was Tessel. The orphanage records we found list an "Aunt Lerner" as the contact person for the boys. She lived at 874 Longwood Avenue in the Bronx. Does anyone know who this may be? We are wondering what her relationship was to the family as we'd never heard of Lerner's in the family before. The Tessel family used to live in Kremenets, Russia (now Ukraine) before moving to Odessa and then finally New York. Thanks for any leads!
