Westchester County Genealogical Society (NY) Upcoming Meeting The next meeting is this coming Saturday. Debra Braverman will present The NYC 1890 Police Census to the WGCS at our last meeting of our genealogical year on Saturday, June 13, 2009. As many of us are aware, the 1890 NYC Police Census bridges the gap between the 1880 and 1900 U.S. censuses for those having ancestors who lived in New York City during that time. Since the 1890 U.S. census has been almost entirely lost, the Police Census helps researchers track their families at the midway point between 1880 and 1900. Debra will show us how to use it. Debra is a member of several genealogical organizations such as the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Jewish Genealogical Society of New York, and the National Genealogical Society. She specializes in NYC research, heir searches and due diligence, as well as Jewish genealogy.
