    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Although in a case like that the person is not a blood relative. However, what does NYC use to define "relative" i can find no standards listed on the NYC-DOH website. NYS-DOH does list standards on theirs...and has time periods listed. But, all NYC says is that they will release a death certificate of a "relative" We'll i want to send for the death certificate of my grandfather's sister who died in Queens in 1989. She would therefore be a blood relative to me and be my great aunt. Would NYC DOH release the death certificate to me??. Because i know under NYS-DOH standards if she died in the state outside of the city...i would NOT be entitled. However, i know NYC has a separate Vital Statistics Office and does not operate under the Albany system...so just wanted to see if this would be different. If you know...please advise.
