    1. Re: History of "Thwaites House"
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JRB.2ACE/1558.1 Message Board Post: I queried another GEN site and got this response. I hope this helps. Although I don`t recall a "Thwaites Mansion" on Thwaites Place during the time that I grew up in that neighborhood during the 1940s and 50s, I can tell you that the Thwaites family DID live on that street for THREE generations (according to John Mc Namara in his "History In Asphalt"). To quote Mc Namara: "The Thwaites lived on this small street for three generations and their property is listed in Beers 1868 Atlas and Bromley`s 1891 Atlas. Mention of this family is found in early records, dating back to 1703 when the name of Dan Twaites (spelled this way) is found on a list of schoolmasters". Sammy S.
