Brides name: Doris E. Cotton and Grooms name: Robert Eugene Lee (Navy enlisted) She had two children with Robert and needs to contact him if he is still living. We need to know where we can access Marriage certificate for that area back then. Also, if anyone knows if I can obtain information about his Navy records: Navy, Specialized in sonar, discharged in 1949, then out a year and then into the Army and stationed in Africa. Where at the Veterans Admin do I go; also she would like his medals and since there may be a pension due her, as widow where does she get info. She does not have his social security number. If you don't have his SSN, do you have his Navy Serial number which was used prior to the SSN. All Milper had a distinct Ser. No.until the late 60s. If he is deceased and a military retiree, your friend if not divorced (depending on age and other factors) may be eligible for some benifits, his children may also be eligible to receive any medals or records. In either case his children probably have legitimate access to the records. Access the following site to find your legal opportunities.
