    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JRB.2ACE/1558.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Boston Post Rd and White Plains Rd (aka Albany Post Road) intersect near Thwaites Place. Before the Bronx River Parkway was built around 1908, there would have been a sloping hill down to the Bronx River. Bronx Park East runs parallel to the parkway. This is near the Bronx Zoo and NY Botanical gardens. There was also a Thwaites Inn on City Island that was a well known restaurant. It was a very old building and was once an inn and owned by a Thwaites family. It has since been torn down. Prior to 1900 there was very little in the area. It was mostly farms and wilderness. It is very likely that they are your family. In fact the area was part of Westchester until after WWI
