Twice I've tried to get the death certificate for my grandfather-in-law who died in the Bronx 1951. The first time the NY Dept of Health said I couldn't have it because I wasn't a direct descendant. The second time my husband requested it and stated he wanted it for medical history (true) and he was denied because he didn't know name of Michael Guiliani's parents or his Social Security Number. My husband is the only living direct descendant so there's no one who has this information. Does anyone have any clue how to work around this absurd process?
