I have seen that info. about Wolf and family being detained due to his senility on the Ellis Island website (I copied it from microfilm at the FHC also). His granddaughter was only 7 when he passed away in 1924, but doesn't remember him being senile. Also on the 1910 census he is listed as William Lebowitz in ward 17 of Manhattan with the occupation of tobacco cutter (his age and his wife's age are way off). And in 1920 he is shown as a salesman. So possibly he had a mild case of senility and could still work, or it was a mistake or the word had a somewhat different meaning 100 yrs. ago. Other than that does the family on that passenger list in July, 1901 look like the right one to you? (The ages are pretty close). I haven't found any other close matches, but the spelling could be a problem. Oh, and I need to correct a mistake I made in my original posting--they lived at 1044 Kelly St. and were family 106.
