According to the 1920 census, Michael, Catherine and George Enders are living at 777 East 180th Street. What parish served a particular address is nearly impossible to recreate as the parish boundaries were relatively fluid. In most cases, you start with the nearest parish and work out. The nearest RC church extant in your timeframe is: St Martin of Tours 664 Grote St. Bronx, NY 10457 Phone: (718) 295-0913 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Bob, Despite the same zip code, I would be surprised if the family attended either Our Lady of the Assumption (OLA) or St Theresa. OLA was my childhood parish and I was married there in 1974. St. Theresa was a few blocks from me. Both are in the Pelham Bay section. The address is closer to Westchester Square. The better choice would be either St. Francis Xavier or St. Raymond Church on Castle Hill Ave. They're not that far from 1435 Williamsbridge Rd. Nora Hopkins FitzGerald Hopkins - Castlebar, Co. What Parish would have served the Duffy family who lived on 774 180th Street in the Bronx in 1920. As far as I can tell, Michael died in about 1927, and his wife Catherine Enders must have died between then and 1930. It appears that Catherine had a "change of life" baby sometime in 1927, also named Catherine. I found her in the Orphan Asylum in the 1930 census, at least I assume she is, although the orphanage would not give me any information as I am not a Direct decendant. The next record I have for Catherine is in New Jersey in 1942 living with her Uncle George, Catherine Sr.s brother. My last record for her is the SS death record. She died in Westchester in 1976 (as I recall). It might be a way to find out when Michael died and where he was put to rest. Any help?
