Gaston and Joseph were at the NY Foundling Hospital in Manhattan. The 1900 Census lists the month and year of birth. I know the NY foundling hospital is of no help at all in my search for Catherine Duffy. She would have been my mothers first cousin. She was a late in life baby, and her father died before she was born and her mother died about two years after she was born. She is in the 1930 census, but neither of her parents are in that census. I wanted to verify that she was the right child, but they refused because I was not a direct descendent. Catherine never married, and she has cousins on her father's side that she never knew, my mother being one of them. In short, she has no direct descendents living. By 1942, she was living with her uncle (never married) in New Jersey, and she died in Westchester NY, as I recall in 1976(If she is the correct one.) I hate to spend the money for a SS record without some indication that she is the right one. For a few bad people in the world those that are honest get lumped in with them all, or is it an excuse for not going to the trouble of giving the information out. ? She passed away in the Bronx on Sep 6, 1993 where her family lived. So we think she is buried somewhere in the Bronx. She was a resident of Aliquippa, PA and the widow of DR John Webster Maratta. Her husband and son are buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Aliquippa. They both passed over 20 years before she did. She's not at Woodlawn according to cemetery records. One month Can anyone help here? Does 1m mean one minute or one month?
Greetings, On the NY City death index there is an Edith Foden who died in Manhattan on May 23, 1931. Age was 1m certificate number 14070. As the Mother's name was Edith this might be worth a try as the birth might not have taken place in the Bronx. Can anyone help here? Does 1m mean one minute or one month? Hope this helps, Donna
