    3. I wrote to Father Jablonski at the RC Church of St. Valentine at 810 221st Street in August. I just recently got my letter back saying the postal service was unable to locate the address. I don't understand as I've written to the church before. Have they closed St. Valentine's? Can anyone advise me about where I would go to locate the records now? Thanks!! Kathy

    1. Woman in Sweden needs help -- Uncle Stanley JONSSON
    2. Hi list, I received the following query -- is their anyone out there that might be able to help? [Dear Helen M. Imburgia, my grandmother Mrs.Ruth Sophia Johnson and her husband John left Sweden the 5th of january 1929 to become one of thousands emigrants living in Bronx. They became members of the Swedish Immanuel Cong.Church where they also worked as a caretakers (adr. 990 East 181 Street). Their sons Chester (birth unknown) and Stanley (birth 20/1 1935) were born at Women Hospital. My grandmother in very sensitive and happy words discribe the feeling of becoming a mother in the new country. In various letters as year passes, they allow us, the family in Sweden, to follow their struggle day by day (adr. 455 East. 179 st Bronx N.Y. 57. where they lived for 30 years, top floor). Unfortunately the 18th of april 1975, the day when my grandmothers died, all contact stopped. My only living uncle, Stanley Jonsson (their American way of spelling their surename), will soon become 70 year and I wish I new if he still is alive, and if so, where he lives today. I have tried everything without any result - I can not find him. Therefore I humble ask you living in Bronx N.Y. USA to help me to find him. If so, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am locking forward to here from you. Your sins. Beatrice Baudin.] [email protected] This was my response: Hi Beatrice, Sorry, I do NOT live in the Bronx -- I live in Delaware Co., PA. I did find the following in the Social Security Death Index but I did not fine Ruth's sons: RUTH JONSSON 18 Dec 1897 Apr 1975 10457 (Bronx, Bronx, NY) 065-52-7064 New York You may want to contact their church & see if they know where Stanley JONSSON may be living. He might be in a nursing home affiliated with the church. I will forward your query to the Bronx mailing list -- someone their might be able to help you. :) I wish you the very best in your research & hope you find your Uncle Stanley. Happy hunting, Helen (DCGS)

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JRB.2ACE/1527 Message Board Post: http://www.wtv-zone.com/phyrst/audio/nfld/08/survivor.htm Hi! Above are the lyrics to my song now on our Newfoundland Sharecropper Trio cd entitled "Home,Boys!" It's an intriguing ongoing story. No one knows where she is buried. A lot of info has passed my desk...a lot I already know but every email sheds a little new light here and there. Maggie Madigan(Titanic Survivor)'s info is incorrect in many place and books. Apparently Senan Molony is coming out with a new book about the Titanic which is "supposed" to have more info on Maggie Madigan. So far no one knows where she is buried and other pertinent facts. Oh well, time will tell!! Have you dropped into the "great" website in Askeaton Ireland? Now I wish every town would do what Jennifer Walsh has done with this one....amazing stuff...well worth the visit. My great grandfather was born in Askeaton (as was Maggie Madigan) and this great little town is featured at http://www.askeatonbynet.com Drop down to the Maggie Madigan yellow box section!!! Let me know what you think of my story some day. And if you are interested in hearing my song about Maggie, then drop into http://www.newfoundlanders.net/Titanic Of course the whole cd "Home,Boys!" is available at http://www.thesharecroppers.net Thanks again for responding. Feel free to comment again or visit Newfoundland...t'is Canada's best kept secret! Long may yer big jib draw.....cheers..Mike Madigan [email protected] Thanks....Mike Madigan

The contributed a 2nd Canon Scanner to help us in our quest to computerize the indexes of the Municipal Archives. I'm hard at work on 1930 as I type this. Bob has already scanned 1920-1929 and is in the process of converting it to Access. 1920-1929 will be a very big asset to us researchers that only know our ancestor dies between the 2 census's. The Groom's index 1908-1936 still isn't up on the IGG website yet but I'm told it will be soon. It is complete. As soon as we finish the deaths up to 1948 we will be starting the Metro births that are now soundexed on microfilm. Our index will be alphabetical or soundexed. Well, let me get back to work. Tony

There are no households enumerated on Seneca Ave. The higher numbers -- east of Bryant are in ED 1458. Again, no households enumerated on Seneca Ave. To convince myself that I wasn't hallucinating, I checked the area for the 1920 census. The western end of Seneca Ave is in ED 268 and the lowest address enumerated is 1200 Seneca Ave. What is the name of the people for whom you are searching?

That forms the current basis for the Steve Morse One Step Search site. Bronx/Manhattan is on that film. I checked the original M1283 film for Seneca in the Bronx for 1910. There are only two Enumeration Districts shown that have that street... 1457 and 1458. And as the other researcher noted, the house numbers for Seneca are from 1200 to 1360....no low numbers. So you might want to check those 2 EDs. Joel Weintraub
