    1. REQUEST INFORMATION ON BRONX BOYS
    2. Hi, My 6 uncles, all brothers [two of whom were twins] served in WW2 together. They were the Geraghty boys from the East Bronx; the only sons of John and Mary[ Mamie] Geraghty. Their story was written in a Bronx paper. Is anyone familiar with the story or perhaps remember them? I will be most grateful for any information given. Thank you, Ursula

I sorry I can't help Aunt Anna with more information. If you would like to get in touch with me personally, just e-mail me at the e-mail address that Ancestry.com has. Kind Regards, Gwenythe

My Mother's name: Caroline married to John Bernard Harvey. I vaguely remembered a Barcia in the Family and certainly could never forget Aunt Anna Westphal (married to Mike). A daughter and 2 sons came from that marriage, I think. I am trying to seek links to the Maidhoff that I think might have been Caroline's and Anna's Mother. They were a Family of nine siblings. New York City was just Manhattan and a few islands in the East River. What might create a difficulty, though, is whether your information concerning the 11th ward, 16th district is from the first enumeration or thre second enumeration in 1870. What exactly are you trying to determine?

I'm not giving up. Thanks for the help.

Once you have that, the DOH is a little more likely to release the certificate when the request has the number with it. Also, a copy of your parent's marriage certificate and a copy of yours will prove direct descendency as long as both have the names of parents on them. Tony

The dates of birth of the two people look reasonable to your people. You need to get those papers. Not only will those declarations and petitions (separate application forms) have their pictures, but there should be a "Certificate of Arrival" as part of the package that would show how they entered the U.S. In the 1940s/1950s both would have had to go through the process to become citizens. It would be $20 well worth spending. Joel W.

What I need is preferably a death certificate, or at least something that may have his parent's names. I did a search on the FHL microfilm of Bronx deaths and found person with the same name who died in 1951, at the right age. I just can't figure out how to get copy of the death certificate without his SSN or parent's names. I wrote to St. Raymond's, assuming he might be buried there, but they have no record of him. I'm open to all suggestions.

What is the name of the person for whom you are trying to get the death cert? It is probably easier to find the target person in the census if you know (or can approximate) their year of birth, spouse and children's names and/or where they lived in 1920 and 1930. If you have any of that info, a quick search of the census index should turn up the right person.
