They lived in Killingly, Windham County, Connecticut, and Nathaniel served in the Connecticut Continental Line under Colonel John Durkee. He and his family later moved to Yates County, NY. At one point, this section of Yates County, fell under Ontario County to the North. Nathaniel and Betsy's son, Nathaniel II, married Sarah Cornwell/Cornell; and his young brother George, married either her sister or cousin, Ruth Cornwell/Cornell.
