I am a total novice in the genealogy game and am just trying to answer a question that has been spinning around our family. My great-great grandmother was Lydia Delano Knight. This is the way it is recorded in some of our records. My great grandfather was Joseph, her son by Daniel Knight. Is it true that she was a Capen and if so why is the name Delano preceding Knight? Some of Joseph's relatives stated that she was related to the Delanos. Would you know if this is true. Anything that you can share would be much appreciated. Hello June(cousin) My 3great grandma was Lydia Capen Knight Delano Blanchard. She was born a Capen and m. Daniel Knight on 10/26/1825. She had Albert on 2/18/1827 and Joseph on 3/8/1829. After Daniel died in 1833, she married her deceased sister's husband:Joshua Laselle Delano and took under her wing his six children. He too died and she married Blanchard. I do have the Capen family back to 16th century. Please let me know if you need info. Albert married three of four sisters...quite a story. Joseph was married twice, I believe. I have letters that his second wife Addie sent to my Gr. Grandmother. Do you have any info on the Knight family. I only have info that Daniels father was an "Ebenezer" and may have been a minister who took his own life from guilt from Rev. War. Would love to hear from you.
