BRANDS of Main Street, Scio, died Friday, May 18, 1973, at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, following a brief illness. Born in Scio on August 19, 1889, she was a daughter of James and Elizabeth GORTON FLINT. She married Ernest L. BRANDS who died June 3, 1952. She had been a lifetime resident of Scio. Mrs. BRANDS was an Allegany County Home Demonstration agent for many years and later worked as a seamstress for the Davies Department Store, Wellsville. She was a member of the Scio United Methodist Church; the Scio Firemen's Auxiliary and the Belmont Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Ruth) CONNER of Scio and Mrs. Jessie RUMSEY of Depew; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles FLINT of Scio; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Mullholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsville, where funeral services will be held Monday, May 21, 1973, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Erford DANIELS of the Scio United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Fair Lawn Cemetery, Scio. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund or the charity of the donors choice.
