BURGESS, SR. Glenn E. BURGESS, Sr., 81, of Fillmore RD, died Saturday, June 27, 1970, at Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born August 1, 1888, in Houghton, he was the son of Emoroy and Emma PALMER BURGESS. He was married September 15, 1914, to the former Mildred LEET, who died in April, 1966. Mr. BURGESS had been an insurance broker in Allegany County for 50 years; and was a past deputy sheriff of the county. He was a member of the Fillmore United Wesleyan Church (either Wesleyan or United Methodist). Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Glenda) GOLDEN of Olean and Mrs. Raymond (Maxyne) BLOOMSTER of Kane, Pa.; two sons, Glenn E. BURGESS, Jr. of Springwater and Robert (Jack) BURGESS, of Scio; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Kopler Funeral Home where the family will be present today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 1970, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. R. T. HOLTON, pastor of the Fillmore United Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Houghton. [Transcribed by Louise Y.
