BLISS Charles W. BLISS of 27 North Genesee Street, Fillmore, died Tuesday, June 5, 1973, at King Manor Nursing Home, Warsaw. Mr. BLISS was born in the Town of Hume, September 20, 1881, a son of Marcus and Mary WEAVER BLISS. He married the former Pearl VanDRESSER, who survives. Mr. BLISS was Vice President of the State Bank of Fillmore at the time of his death; a 60 year member of the Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodge 892, of Fillmore; and a member of Oriona Grove Lodge 229, F. and A.M. of Fillmore. As a 60 year director of the Allegany County Co-op Insurance Company of Friendship, Mr. BLISS was granted the title of Emeritus by the company. He was a former trustee of the Village of Fillmore; a former president of the Fillmore Central School Board; and a past president of the Brooks Hose Fire Company. Surviving, in addition to his widow, are a son, Lyle BLISS of Fillmore; two grandchildren and four great-grandsons; a brother, Schuyler BLISS of Freedom; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are being received at the Kopler Funeral Home, Fillmore, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 1973. The Rev. Burdette C. FULLER, pastor of the Fillmore United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the East Koy Cemetery, Town of Pike. Memorials if desired may be made to the Fillmore Rescue Squad.
