BAKER of Merton Ave., Belfast, died March 8, 1973, at Cuba Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for the past two months. Born May 11, 1896, in the Town of Caneadea, she was a daughter of Daniel and Kathryn MOUNTAIN McNAMARA. She was the widow of Clyde BAKER, who died March 18, 1963 and had been a resident of the Belfast area all of her life. Mrs. BAKER was a graduate of the Belfast Training Class of 1917. For 30 years she was a teacher and taught most of the time in the Fillmore Central School District, retiring in 1957. She was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church of Belfast and its Altar and Rosary Societies. She was also a member of the New York State Teachers Association; the National Education Association and the Allegany Teachers Association. Surviving are a son, John BAKER of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Joan) PARNELL of Webster; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A prayer service and recitation of the Rosary will be held at the Wolcott Funeral Home, Belfast, on March 12, 1973, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Francis J. JANN, as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Belfast. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. [Transcribed by Louise Y.
