    3. BELFAST Mrs. Mary C. Garvin, 92, of 1 West Hume St., died Sunday (June 3, 1979) in Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born Oct. 27, 1886 in Irwin, Pa., she was the daughter of John and Margaret Wyant Reiter. On June 26, 1912, she was married Irwin to James C. Garvin Sr., who predeceased her on Sept. 29, 1952. Mrs. Garvin a former resident of Little John Road in Belfast had been employed as a winder at Acme Electric Corporation in Cuba, retiring in 1956. She was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church of Belfast, and for 40 years had been active in church decorations; she was also co-chairman for St. Patrick's dinners for many years.Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Shipman of Olean; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Murken Funeral Home, Belfast, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where sevices will be held Tuesday (June 5, 1979) with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, at 10 a. m. The Rev. Francis J. Jann, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Belfast. The Rosary will be recited today in the funeral home.
