V. Cole A. V. Cole , a most esteemed citizen of Ischua, died of the 29th ult., of heart disease, after a brief illness. Mr. Cole had been a resident of this town and Ischua for twenty-five years. For over 15 years he had been a subscriber for the Cuba True Patriot, commencing with the first number issue. In Politics, Mr. Cole was a firm uncompromisisng Republican, having voted with that party from its first formation. He was a most exemplary citizen, a kind husband, and indulgent parent. The children of Casey and Nancy COLE were Amanda, Prudentia, Arvilla, Philena, Olive, Parker (a solider), Alvira, Milo, Amelia, and Bela (also a soldier). Milo was born in Augusta, N.Y., in 1820, and married, in 1843, Eliza MARKS, of Perry, N.Y., where his father then lived; children: Mary (Mrs. Herbert STRONG), of Friendship, N.Y.; Sidney, of Crawford county, Pa.; Alice; Amanda L. (Mrs. George S. WALDRON), of Ischua, who has children George H. and Grace E.; and William, of Bradford, Pa. Mr. WALDRON enlisted in the 9th H.A. and fought in twenty-one battles, including the Wilderness, Harpers Ferry, Lookout Mountain, and Gettysburg. He captured a battle flag at Farmerstown, Pa. There were seven Coles shown in Belfast Twp in 1830 and a total of seventeen in Allegany Co.
