Surnames: Botsford, Nourse Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BUB.2ACI/5849 Message Board Post: Gladys Botsford The death of Miss Gladys BOTSFORD, 41, occurred at the home of her sister Mrs. Allen Nourse (?), of Fillmore, Wednesday evening, after a lingering illness. A resident of this village all of her life and active in various circles, her untimely death is mourned by the entire community. For a few years after she graduated from the Fillmore high school and the Belfast training class, she taught school at Marilla. Later she entered the State Bank of Fillmore as a bookkeeper where her charming personality and pleasant disposition gained her the respect of countless friends. She served in the capacity of bookkeeper until she was obliged to resign on account of illness early this year. The death of her father and mother occurred within a few months of each other last year. Gladys was a Past Noble Grand of Genesee Rebekah Lodge of Fillmore and active in that fraternal order for several years. She was the only member of the order who held the office of noble grand for more than one year. A patient in Fillmore and Buffalo hospitals for a time during her illness, she was faithfully cared for during her last illness by her sister, Mrs. NOURSE. Besides her sister Hazel, she is survived by a brother Harold BOTSFORD, Fillmore and a niece Evelyn Jean NOURSE. Funeral services will be held from Miss BOTSFORD's home in Fillmore Saturday at two o'clock, the Rev. N.R. SHAFFER officiating. Burial will be made in the family plot in Pine Grove Cemetery.
