ATHERTON Elmer S. ATHERTON of 68 Hughes Street, Belfast, died Thursday, January 30, 1969, at Cuba Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born March 29, 1891, in Caneadea, a son of Willard and Nettie ELMER ATHERTON. He married the former Viola McCARTHY who survives. Mr. ATHERTON was a retired farmer and more recently caretaker of the Holy Cross Cemetery. He was a member and past master of Belfast Grange 1068. Surviving, in addition to his widow, are two sisters, Mrs. Anna GLEASON of Hunt and Mrs. Loren (Cora) JENNINGS of Belfast; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are being received at the Wolcott Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today; all day Saturday; and Sunday after 3 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Monday, February 3, 1969, at 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev.
