BARBER, of this community (Belfast), died Sunday, March 29, 1970, at the Wellsville Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born in Onida, S. D. June 15, 1898, a daughter of Houghton and Alice NETTLER BARBER. She was a member of the Hawthorne Club in Belfast and Bartlett Chapter 411, Order of the Eastern Star. Miss BARBER was a graduate of the Belfast Training Class, Geneseo Normal, Houghton College and Case Western Reserve University School of Library Science in Cleveland, Ohio. Survivors include Miss Helen M. BARBER of Los Angeles, Calif. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 4, 1970 at the Oramel First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. Thomas W. MURRAY, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church in Wellsville, will officiate. The family has requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the Houghton College Library or the Frontier Nursing Service, Wendover, Ky., in care of Helen E. BROWNE, director.
