I am looking for the parents of William Porter Butterfield. He was born in Allegany Cty. about 1820 or so and died in Eau Claire WI in the early 1890's. He married Martha Gilbert about 1843. They had three children Wesley, Charles, and Ella. He was a master carpenter and lived in the Scio, Friendship, Amity area until 1862. Three Butterfields are listed in the 1820 federal census Oliver, Elijah, and Solomon. t Elijah may have been his father but I have no proof.
