I am searching for any information on an Ezekiel Stanton of Belmont, NY married to Mercy Hayes Stanton. Ezekiel Stanton was born in 1804 in Strafford NH and he married Mercy of Alton NH in about1830. Ezekiel Stanton was a farmer and surveyor and did most of surveying in the Belmont and adjoining towns between 1832-1863. He had one son that I know of named Daniel Hayes Stanton of Malone NY married to Elizabeth Ware of Brownville NY. Were there other children?? He then moved to Grundy County Iowa where he died. -Charmaine Campany

Dear Charmaine, I am on the NY Allegany mailing list and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a note from Charmaine. I know it had to be you because - how many Charmaines are out there. It's time I got back to Campany and as I recall you have a copy which I have little touched since I sent it to you. What I sent was rough and I will be cleaning it up. I did not bring the Campany family forward much beyond 1915 because this gets tricky with living people being mentioned in a work like this. I would love to get your comments when you get a chance. I have tough skin, so please let me know the good and the bad! I did make a quick pass through Croghan this past summer on my way from Albany to see my in-laws in Watertown.
