Some marriages are recorded in church records. You can check the catalog at FamilySearch.org for Allgany county to see what church records are microfilmed. Those are available to a local Family History Center near you. I suggest also checking what marriage records are filmed for Stueben county, too. The minister may have traveled from another town to perform the marriage and then recorded it in the church record later. I don't know what the requirements are for DAR documentation. Deeds and Probate records will prove husband and wife relationship. A probate record may record the date of a marriage in the proof of the will or estate.
