QUANT William H. QUANT, an old resident of Fillmore, and former business man of this village, passed away January 5, 1951, at the age of 78. Mr. QUANT had not been well for some time. He was entered at the Fillmore Hospital, suffering from diabetic gangrene, from which he never recovered. Mr. QUANT will be remembered by many as a Meat Market and Grocery Store proprietor of this village and Hume, for more than 40 years. There were many years that he did his own butchering and ground his own sausage, thereby gaining much popularity from those who are fond of choice cuts of meat and home seasoned sausage. He also did his own trucking for many years and served his customers with fresh fruits and vegetables when they did not otherwise have that service. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery on Monday, January 8, 1951. He leaves his wife, Ida, to whom he had been married for 57 years, one daughter, Mrs. Claude SANDFORD, three grandsons, and two brothers, Earl and James QUANT.
