CURTIS passed away at his home in this village Sunday morning after an illness of several years, at the age of 36. Mr. CURTIS had been in ill health for over seven years, yet during much of that time had managed to take active interest in local business affairs, particularly the distribution of gas and oils. He was born in Fillmore on May 6, 1900 and attended the Fillmore High School from which he was graduated in 1922. In 1926 he received the degree of Bachelor of Science from the U. of Pennsylvania. He was employed for some time as a clerk in the offices of the General Motors Corp., in New York city which position he occupied until January of 1929 when his health failed and he returned to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. CURTIS of Fillmore. During recent years he had aided his father, the late J.W. CURTIS, in establishing the local branch of the Eldred Refinery Co. Mr CURTIS is survived by his wife, who was the former Miss Louise BLAKESLEE of Eldred, Pa., and his mother, Mrs. J.W. CURTIS of Fillmore. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at St. Patrick's church, Rev. Max BOGACKI officiating and interment was made in the Holy Cross cemetery.
