Burr CANEADEA - - Alanson Andrew Jackson BURR of Main Street, died Friday, April 6, 1973, at his home following a short illness. Born May 25, 1897, at Burrville, Town of Caneadea, he was a son of Bruce and Elizabeth STEWART BURR. On Nov. 13, 1919, at Belfast he married the former Lucy PATTERSON, who survives. Mr. BURR operated a grocery store for nearly 40 years and an auction service for 14 years. He was a substitute postal clerk since 1918 and a retired employee of the New York State Department of Transportation. He attended the Caneadea United Methodist Church; was a member of the former Caneadea Masonic Lodge; a member and past president of the Caneadea Fire Dept.; served on the Town of Caneadea election board; and was a member of the Genesee Valley Conservation Club. In addition to his widow, he is survived by five sons, Andrew J. BURR, Jr. of Scio, Burton J. BURR of Rushford, Stewart BURR of Angelica, Bruce L. BURR of Wellsville and Donald C. BURR of Houghton; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Crystal) MICHEL of Sanborn, Mrs. Leslie (Myrtle) LOWE of Caneadea, Mrs. James (Mary) MOUNTAIN of Belfast, and Mrs. Alan (Judy) MILLS of Caneadea; 40 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur B. BURR of Caneadea; a sister, Mrs. Mildred COLLINS of Belfast, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Wolcott Funeral Home, 65 Main Street, Belfast, today from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 1973, at 1:30 p.m. at the Caneadea United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold A. KNITTER, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Burrville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Caneadea United Methodist Church or the Belfast Rescue Squad. [Transcribed by Louise Y.
