Loftis October 1938 Peter B. LOFTIS, 72, former supervisor of the Town of Caneadea and one of northern Allegany‘s foremost citizens, died suddenly at his home in Houghton late Saturday. Mr. LOFTIS had been in his usual good health up to the hour of his death and his passing came as a shock to a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Funeral rites were held from St. Patrick's Church, Fillmore Wednesday morning at ten o'clock and burial was made in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore. Mr. LOFTIS was born February 22, 1866 in Belfast, a son of Anthony and Mary O'BOYLE LOFTIS. He was married February 12, 1896, to Margaret J. MCCARTHY who survives together with two daughters, Mrs. A.
