    1. [NYAllega] partial letter WW1 scrapbook From Franklin G King WW1 Spldier Part 1 Friendship
    2. The article on other side had this article on back so first part of letter missing but its still interesting dated 24 Oct 1918 Friendship,NY I enlisted in the Signal Corps last Sept and after several months taining at Camp Dix,N.J., left for overseas had a fine trip across the ocean one never to be forgotten. I never thought there was so much water. There were a great many interesting events that took place which I would like to tell you about but I am afraid that they would not get past the censor so so much for my trip across. After getting rested up from my trip and getting to camp we felt fine. Since Ive been here I have seen quite alot of the country, and believe me it is a great sight so many interesting places and things that a fellow has read about but never expected to see. The French people are very kind to us and we get along very well. I have learned to talk quite alot of French and wished that we had learned it at school for it would come in very handy now. We are busy all the time getting ready to clean up the hun and by the way our boys have advanced in the last month it looks as if we would be back in the Good Old USA before long Lets hope so anyway Heres my address Pvt. Franklin G King, 303 Field Signal Battalion American Expeditionary Forces Via New York.
