CRANDALL Curtis J. CRANDALL, 92, of Main Street, Houghton, died Friday, May 16, 1969, at Cuba Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. CRANDALL was born May 13, 1877, in West Pike, Pa., a son of Daniel and Kate TURCK CRANDALL. In January 1918, he married the former Louise CLEMENT, who survives. One of the oldest active cemetery memorials salesmen in the United States, Mr. CRANDALL was honored in June 1964, by the Monumental News Review. He was a representative of Foley Monument Co., Olean, for 18 years before joining McDonnell & Sons Co., Buffalo. In 1949 he established Crandall and Son, at Houghton, with his Son, William CRANDALL. He was a civic leader and Republican committeeman for many years. Mr. CRANDALL was a member of Caneadea Lodge 357, of Free and Accepted Masons. In addition to his widow, Mr. CRANDALL is survived by three sons; John CRANDALL of Brockport, William CRANDALL of Houghton and Frederick HAUSER of Boston, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Edgar CRANDALL of Bolivar; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Kopler Funeral Home, Fillmore, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted there Monday, May 19, 1969, at 1 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. James BEDFORD, president of the Buffalo Bible Institute. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery, Ulysses, Pa. [Transcribed by Louise Y.
