She was born 16 Jun 1817 in Castile, Wyoming Cty, NY (not too far from Birdsall, Allegany Cty, NY) and died 8 Mar 1855 in Detroit, MI She married Charles Knight MIX (date unknown) and they had at least two children, William Henry MIX and Lawrence Wesley MIX. Both children served in the Civil War, but William Henry enlisted, went up the ranks and was a Lieutenant in charge of an attacking company when he was wounded in the battle at Petersburg, left for dead in a retreat, captured, and then realeased about six months later. He had been reported KIA to his widow after the battle, then two weeks later, she got a letter from him from a Confederate prison. This is all I have on Caroline WORDEN MIX.
